Today’s Payne Phalen neighborhood arose from a long legacy of pioneering and successive immigrant communities who left their mark on the area. Early Irish, Germans, Swedes and Italians made the East Side their home. More recently, waves of new residents from Asia, Latin America and Africa continue the rich immigrant history and are revitalizing the community’s cultural life and economy.
Brunson’s Pub’s eclectic menu reflects this history – putting out food of different cultures and techniques. The menu is limitless – expressed through salads, sandwiches, burgers and shareable plates. Chef Torrance Beavers was raised in Mississippi, and worked his way up from dishwasher to head chef. A graduate form Le Cordon Bleu, Chef Torrance’s experience includes putting out local food in North Carolina, Mississippi, the Virgin Islands, and the Twin Cities. With seasonal changes, our artisanal sandwiches, burgers, homemade salad dressings, creative shareable plates, and a fun kids menu will leave no one left out.
